Delving Into the Imagination

Hands down, one of my favorite things is to find someone of the like-minded imagination as me. I would "imagine" that most people love to find someone who enjoys talking about the same topics as they do, but I think it is especially true when you can talk about those things deep in the recesses of your mind!
Warning: I am about to hardcore geek out, but I think at this point it is a given.
Recently, I met someone who immediately on an intellectual and emotional level I really liked and made me feel as if I could mention anything. Including those things that I have only kept to myself for so long, it was weird to mention them out loud. But it was even better to realize that I was not alone in my imagination, and that there was someone willing to step into my own personal wonderland to go exploring. As an example, I have this dream of an apocalypse, and everyday I find myself waking up and wanting it to happen. Is that morbid? Maybe. However I really want it to happen so that we as humans will be forced to evolve, to reevaluate our existence, and to think outside of the box! I find great worry in the fact that there is too many of us on this Earth right now who are just living. We have our jobs that we go to everyday, we have exciting things to punctuate here and there, and of course families that we can grow with and loved ones. But besides that, what are we doing for this world we live in to improve it, to be aware of the climate change, to clean up what we have? What are we doing to expand our horizons, to realize how much space is out there from Earth and why we aren't pooling our resources to explore out there together? Maybe I am a bit altruistic, but either way I highly believe that we may need something to really help us reach our potential and to move forward.
I feel like there might be a word for that kind of thinking but it hasn't come to me yet so I 'm going to keep going,
To go along with that, an apocalypse is something new! I do not condone mass death or murder, because that is awful, but I just think we need something new to inspire us. There are celebrities who seem to have things to inspire and keep them going, there are athletes who work to better themselves and to stay fit, there are teachers who enjoy the time they take to prepare to enlighten and inspire younger generations or other humans, and every other career out there where people work for a cause. I am in no way bagging on that. I just hate the idea that all we do is work and we wake up every day with ambitions or things to do, but there is so much we haven't discovered and so much we don't know about the far reaches of Earth and the workings of Earth from the inside. After all of these years of inventions and innovations, how far along are we in learning to grow and progress toward speaking with animals, for instance? And I do not mean just talking to monkeys or having dogs obey our commands. I mean actual languages between species. It might sound crazy but we spend so much time on things that really don't matter in the long run, that I think it would be cool to reach out and become so much more than just people walking to work or driving to the store.
In my humble opinion, I think Arrival was one of the best movies made, and probably one of my favorite movies I have ever seen. The whole premise of the film takes this amazing new look from the normal alien visitation movies, by showing a more realistic view at what it would be like to not know the language of an incredibly advanced species. It turned just the normal and mundane days of human life into something new to make the people rethink existence. I would hate for this to be it in life, and I worry that we are in fact squandering opportunities to come together as states and countries and generations of people to better ourselves, and to grow our minds, and be actively engaged in helping one another rise up.
So is this a rant that I wish I had more people to freak out to about my dreams of being a superhero who can save everyone, or how I am still pretty offended that Hogwarts and Ilvermorny aren't real and I did not get a letter that accepted me? Absolutely. But I also am serious in saying that I hope we do not squander time on Earth because chances are, we might not get it back. Why waste time not embracing our dreams and discovering what we can really do? Of course, if we do manage to excel and really move to discover advanced technology, we might be able to go back in time. That could be cool. Except, on a personal level I don't think I would change anything because I am of the belief that things happen exactly how they're going to happen and I would not want to change my future. Things will be the way they are going to be.
So there it is. My blog post for the week, and I hope you guys are not disappointed and let's chat about the cool things we wish were a reality right now yeah??
Sincerely,
Jessi Hope
